Public confidence? With public confidence in the Iraq War plummeting today, I can only ask, “Where is today’s Harry Truman?” ~Larry Kudlow

Actually, Kudlow is referring here to Truman’s reputation as an anti-corruption man in the Senate during WWII, not to the better-known Truman reputation in this area when he was President. 

What was the old Eisenhower/Nixon indictment of Truman?  “Communism, corruption and Korea.”  If you liked these things, vote for Harry.  (The communism part referred to the infiltration of the government by communist agents on Harry’s watch.)  As it stands now, Mr. Bush has his own batch of corruption and his own version of Korea–any chance he could get a hat trick by the end of the term?
