The Occupy movements continue around the country — but this past weekend things became turbulent here in DC. Reports tying protesters to a flurry of violence have swept the web.

Michelle Fields, a reporter for the Daily Caller, says she was subjected to verbal harassment and threats by occupiers on Friday evening.

That same night, protesters were blocking traffic and several protesters were subsequently hit by a vehicle. The Daily Caller reports that protesters were only allowing non-luxury cars to pass (warning: foul language in the video).

Another video shows 78-year-old Dolores Broderson being pushed down concrete stairs outside of the Washington Convention Center, where Americans for Prosperity was holding the “Defending the American Dream Summit.” Initial reports asserted that Broderson was pushed by a protester, but updates suggest that her fall was an accident, the result of another conference attendee trying to shove past the occupiers’ human blockade.

Jesse Jackson stirred up controversy after claiming that Martin Luther King Jr. would sympathize with the Occupy movement. MLK’s niece, Alveda King, responded that Jackson’s claim was misleading, and suggested that MLK would not have endorsed the Occupy protests because they aren’t a peaceful movement.
