Succumbed to temptation when I got out of work today. There’s this Belgian guy selling waffles at the market 5 days a week. He’s a real treat because the waffles are authentic, as are the array of delectable toppings. I enjoy watching him at his stall, as he insists on speaking only French to his customers, even if they can’t! Of course he speaks it with a warm smile, and he’s also a lay Dominican.

I know this market. Lovely place. I bought a ridiculous cotton shirt there that seemed like a good idea at the time, but in retrospect would only have looked good on me if I had a pageboy haircut and answered to “squire.” I would have been better off having bought a Belgian waffle.
