It is tempting to feel resentful when you read about world leaders quaffing disgustingly expensive wines and gobbling “fruitwood smoked quail” at the G-20 summit. Oh the hypocrisy, and so on and so forth. But that’s not the conservative spirit. We should rather hope and pray that the globe’s pols get drunk and fat and do nothing else. Their bailouts and rescue plans only make things worse.

If you want to be cross about something, follow the example of called “winelover”–in the CNN comments section–who points out that the $499-a-bottle Shafer Cabernet “Hillside Select” 2003, which the world leaders guzzled, is a fine vintage that should have been kept for another few years for optimal drinkability. The outrage!
