Grilled tuna on arugula, with chunks of watermelon and orange, and an avocado dressing. With a cold Abita Amber. My lunch, at The Gulf, a terrific little place on the beach at the base of the Perdido Key bridge. The kitchen is built out of shipping containers. Basically, in a perfect world, I could sit on the beach at The Gulf’s patio with a book and cold beer all afternoon. The Gulf is exactly what you want in a beach bar and burger joint. And it is that, a burger joint. The kids ate burgers; I got all fancy. The grouper sandwich is not bad, though a little greasy, but adding malt vinegar and Tabasco makes it much better.
