Regarding the debate.

McCain walked right into the “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran” line when he implied Obama was foolish to tell the American people what his foreign policy might be. That was the only big blow of the night.

The conventional wisdom is correct that Obama’s calm demeanor favors him.

McCain is hurt by the fact that independents hate it when anyone attacks Obama, and love it when anyone attacks Bush. The focus-group sub-morons holding the dials told us this on all three networks.

McCain is useless on economic issues as well. Obama said with a straight face that we’ve had eight years of deregulation. McCain should have asked him to name one major instance of deregulation. Then he should have pointed out that Sarbanes-Oxley was enacted under the Bush administration.

The only well-put question came from the woman named, Katie Hamm: “Should the United States respect Pakistani sovereignty and not pursue al Qaeda terrorists who maintain bases there, or should we ignore their borders and pursue our enemies like we did in Cambodia during the Vietnam War?”

Her tone seemed to say: are you a wimp or a Nixonian war criminal?

Both answered: war criminal
