My beloved firstborn took pity on his fever-struck, flu-suffering father this evening, and found the Honey Boo Boo Child holiday special for me to watch. He correctly guessed it would lift my miserable spirits, in that Ignatius-at-the-Prytania way I have (and that he shares).

And then his mother came in from vespers and informed us that no such thing would be happening, because tonight is the premiere of the third season of Downton Abbey. She is now in the isolation chamber living room communing with Maggie Smith et alia.
