Molly Ball profiles Gingrich’s leading financial supporter, Sheldon Adelson, at some length, but this part sums things up nicely:

Adelson supported Rudy Giuliani in the 2008 GOP presidential primaries, and his political philosophy is perhaps best understood as Giuliani-style conservatism — liberal on social issues and preoccupied almost exclusively with a hawkish, pro-Israel, anti-radical-Islam national-security stance, plus opposition to unions.

That is the sort of politics that will benefit if Gingrich wins any more primaries. One has to wonder what all those social conservative and working-class voters for Gingrich could be thinking.
