Today I wish a blessed Feast of the Assumption to Western Christians who are observing it today, and Feast of the Dormition to Orthodox Christians on the new calendar. Watch this video above — it’s Cardinal Karol Wojtyla singing Ave Maria in 1976. I had no idea Pope John Paul II had such a voice! What a revelation.

UPDATE: It has conclusively been shown that this is not JP2’s voice. I wish it were. Sorry, I did not intend to mislead.
