Our man on the scene, a Philly guy, was on business in New Orleans and went by the Loa Bar at the International House Hotel to order a drink from my old high school friend and current rock star bartender Alan Walter. Writes our guy:

This a drink called the Canary. Gin, sake, ginger, pineapple and lemon. Thanks for the recommendation — great place. I’m normally a beer guy, but my interest in good cocktails has been renewed.
