Doak FP conference

On behalf of the board of directors, I’m pleased to announce that Emile Doak has been named The American Conservative’s executive director, effective immediately.

The board conducted a thorough search for TAC’s next organizational leader, and it became apparent our best candidate was here all along. Emile is no stranger to TAC, having served in various roles since joining the organization in early 2017, most recently as Vice President for Advancement & Programs. I’m consistently struck by his thorough grasp of TAC’s mission, from realism and restraint in foreign affairs, to a humane economy that works for local communities, to the civilizational foundations of faith and family. I’m confident that he is the right person to build upon the considerable growth we’ve achieved in recent years, and take TAC to even greater levels of stature and influence.

Emile is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he studied political philosophy and theology, and previously worked in education before returning to the field of his studies. His writing has appeared in The American Conservative, First Things, Front Porch Republic, and elsewhere. A proud native of Herndon, Virginia, he and his wife live in the historic district of their hometown.

I know Emile is eager to share his vision for TAC with you in the coming days. With the leadership we have in place, TAC is ideally positioned to be the premier journal on the Right and advance our Main Street conservative point of view at this critical time in our country.

Please join me in congratulating Emile on this exciting appointment.
