The situation faced now by the publicly humiliated Holly Petraeus speaks to my inner feminist here:

She followed David faithfully throughout his steady rise, moving 23 times in 36 years. (Petraeus once publicly thanked Holly for being “Mrs. Dad for the bulk of the last decade while I’ve been deployed.”)

Twenty-three times in 36 years. How many nights did Holly Petraeus go to bed alone, or struggle to confront problems with their children all by herself, while her husband was off at war? How many friends did she have to say goodbye to over the years, because they were moving for her husband’s career. And now this. She deserves better.

So, by the way, does the publicly humiliated Dr. Scott Broadwell, and the two Broadwell children.
