Here is a melancholy reflection by the great Joan Didion, who turns 87 in a couple of weeks. It’s not really about Thanksgiving, but it is about going home, which intersects with this most American of holidays. Bari Weiss linked to it the other day. It seems appropriate for how we live today. It touched me, I know that much.
