My wife had to go to Wal-mart last night, and called ahead to make sure they weren’t closing early for Easter. The woman there said they are open 24 hours every day of the year except Christmas.

That reminded me of how it wasn’t until I became a Catholic as an adult that I really understood that Easter was a bigger theological deal than Christmas. I had been catechized by the commercial culture. It seriously had never occurred to me until I was instructed so that Easter is by far the more important holiday to Christians. I suspect this is fairly common in America.
