Dr Pepper: Darwinism’s Official Beverage

If you ask me, Dr Pepper is the worst soft drink ever, next to Mr Pibb, a Dr Pepper knockoff. Them’s fighting words in Texas, where Dr Pepper originated. Indeed, them’s fighting words in my house, married as I am to a native Texan who loves her Dr Pepper.

But boy, does Dr Pepper ever have some messed up fans. When someone at the company posted the above image on its Facebook page, all heck broke loose in the comments section. Mashable reports:

“My ancestors were created in the Garden of Eden,” one user posted in response to the advertisement. “I ain’t no freaking chimp. No more Dr Pepper for my household. God Bless y’all,” Another complained: “this is showing the theory of men evolving from apes. I have lost all respect for Dr Pepper and if Dr Pepper wants business from thousands of people they will need to apologize.” (Spellings have been corrected throughout.)

Actually, I just looked in on the Dr Pepper Facebook page, and the comments now are filled by people making fun of anti-Dr Pepper creationists. So, like the Chick-fil-A controversy, a good time is being had by all.
