Who knew? Our outrage at the Gulf catastrophe is really just another form of bigotry:

“BP has many problems in the U.S.,” Justin Urquhart Stewart, co-founder of Seven Investment Management in London, said. “One of them is that it has the word British in its title.”

It was only a matter of time before our vociferous anti-Anglican sentiment came to a head; all it ever needed was a pretext. I just thank God it’s no longer the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company!
We savage colonials would no doubt be unable to contain ourselves if that were the case. I can’t help thinking of another current seaborne catastrophe and the cries of its defenders: anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism!
