Great news: today we passed the halfway mark in advance ticket sales for the Walker Percy Weekend. With two months still to go before the event, and no advertising or media attention, this is remarkable. If we sell out with enough time to spare before the event, we’ll have to decide whether or not we can accommodate more festivalgoers, and therefore should print more tickets. This is a good problem to have!

But it might be a significant problem for you readers who are planning to come to the festival but who haven’t bought your tickets yet. You should expect that this event will sell out well in advance, and that there no more tickets will become available. Again, if there’s enough demand far enough in advance, we might be able to make some more tickets available, but remember, we are a tiny festival in our first year, operating on a shoestring budget.

Please consider buying your tickets online now.  And if you have bought your tickets, I strongly urge you to make room reservations ASAP. Ours is a small town, and there’s a lot of oil exploration going on right now, so you can’t ever tell whether or not rooms will be reserved already. Here’s a link to a directory of lodging in town. And consider joining the Walker Percy Weekend Facebook page to keep up to date on festival happenings.
