Scott, Kara, and I conducted an interview with former congressman and prospective Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr earlier today. Look for the write-up in the May 5 issue, out in about three weeks. I won’t spoil the suspense by revealing too much here, but I can say that Barr talks about his plan to win “independent voters, younger voters, voters who wouldn’t vote for McCain at any rate,” his thoughts on the top issues and his prospects for the general election, and his reasons for leaving the Republican Party. “The Republican Party was not going to change,” he said, telling us that he did not want to be a member of a party with “no interest at all in the Bill of Rights.”
