Perhaps we shouldn’t feel so bad: “naïve” is one of the nicer insults in Andrew Sullivan’s arsenal. Except that we’re not. No one at TAC doubts John McCain would start five wars the second someone loosens his straightjacket. Palin offers the only opening for sanity on the Republican ticket. (I’ll retain the prerogative to revise that opinion after tonight’s debate.) Rather than piling on rote insults that seem only to embolden her, we made the case for a coherent conservatism—limited government at home and abroad. Had the shrewd Mr. Sullivan read on, he might have caught the accompanying indictment, which made clear that she’s not one of us.

Neither, for the record, is Randy Scheunemann, who is realistic only about his own bank account. We’re well aware of the fire he would set. See Exhibits A, B, C, D, E. (Also see Kelley Vlahos’s takedown of the other foreign agents in the “Country First” candidate’s inner circle.)

If the Daily Disher is looking for Palin groupies, any of the other “conservative” magazines will happily oblige. Or maybe he naively presumes we’re all alike…
