I suppose it’s a tribute to how good the Thomas Friedman Op-Ed Generator is that I thought it wasn’t working — that this column was an actual Friedman piece. Then I read more than halfway through it, and thought, “Oh, sweet.”

That’s hilarious!

So, Friedman is using this site himself, now. Easier done, than said.

“Canada: The Next India or the Next Pakistan?” had me in stitches.

Obviously, Canada is both. Ontario and the western provinces is Pakistan, Quebec is India, and the Maritime Provinces are Bangladesh.

I’d like to see the source code. Surely opening it up under a GNU license would result in an automated Krugman, Will, and Ignatieff in short order.

The Bob Herbert column generator was pretty good too. The NYT could cut costs by just relying on auto-generators and get rid of the actual columnists — few would notice. Krugman has become auto-generator-worthy also.

After finally getting around to reading “The World Is Flat”, I can say that this is pretty on the mark. Remember the “Friedman Unit”?

Except Krugman happens to be right.
