My mood is somewhat euphoric as my beloved NY Giants, after three lethargic quarters, came from behind to beat the dog-ass Pittsburgh Steelers! But I hope the TAC readership is also noting reports that helicopter borne US special forces have attacked a village inside Syria, killing eight and wounding fourteen more before departing. As Syria has been cooperating with efforts to close its border to jihadi warriors attempting to infiltrate into Iraq, the attack is somewhat hard to explain (though some general will no doubt do so). Attacking a sovereign country without pretext and without a declaration of war used to be a war crime. Can it all have something to do with Bush Administration’s desire to heighten tensions to help the McCain “National Security” campaign? Or is this a strike against another “nuclear” target based on impeccable Israeli intelligence? Stay tuned.
