I think it’s genuinely interesting that this particular protest has taken on in some respects a certain religiosity. I think that for me, this is off-putting, not in that it is religious, but rather in the form of religion it has taken up.

After telling David Gregory on “Meet The Press” Sunday morning that he was “not familiar with the neoconservative movement,” the jury might still be out on what Herman Cain knows and doesn’t know about foreign policy. Gregory asked Mr. Cain to list some of the figures who had influenced his views on foreign policy, to which Cain replied that he’d followed the writings of former United Nations ambassador John Bolton and Henry Kissinger. The Cain campaign has since tried to clarify the statement to The Daily Caller:

“Of course he’s heard of it… He just doesn’t want to be labeled.”
