My name is Noah Millman, and for some reason I can’t fathom I think there are people out there who might want to hear what I think about Shakespeare, performance and text, and about theatre, literature and the arts more generally.

I have been blogging for the past three years at The American Scene, and will continue to blog there. But that’s a site primarily devoted to politics, economics and American culture, so while I have blogged theatre reviews there, it’s always been a bit off-center to what that blog is supposed to be about, and I thought it made sense to consolidate that kind of activity in a new location.

I’ll be spending much of the month of August at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, so much of my blogging here for the next month will be about productions up there. They’re having a heck of a season this year; hopefully my reviews will help convince American readers (if any) to make the trek north.

So: welcome.
