Lent in Orthodixie

Is gator kosher for Orthodox Lent? Do Russians ever face this question?
photo

My Baptist neighbor bought that little alligator today, and invited us over tomorrow to eat it. I told him that I love him, but I don’t eat lizard, ever. Still, it invites an interesting question: is alligator kosher for Lent? The Roman Catholic archbishop of New Orleans answered that question in the affirmative for his flock (see below), but what about the Orthodox?

Does Patriarch Kyrill ever have to deal with questions like this?

Catholics, y’all have at it:

You know what’s definitely kosher for Lent? Crawfish!
