James C. writes from the road across America:
Tonight I flew into Kansas City. In the morning I drive south to the Ozarks and that great Benedictine daughter house of Fontgombault, the Abbey of Our Lady of Clear Creek.
But my retreat begins tomorrow, and I’m in Kansas City for the first time. What to do? Well, how about some burnt ends and brisket, washed down with KC’s own Boulevard Wheat? Man, this is good stuff.
Did I mention that the SS. Peter and Paul fast for us Orthodox began today? Sweet, forbidden brisket and burnt ends…
