The attached picture was taken in August in Chester, Nova Scotia during a family vacation. The view is of beautiful Mahone Bay, and the meal is my breakfast – a toasted St. Viateur bagel from Montreal with butter and pepper jack cheese. Simple and tasty, against a frankly amazing backdrop. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to Nova Scotia, but if you haven’t, you definitely should – it’s a seriously Crunchy Con part of the world – beautiful nature, great food, quite unspoiled, and really friendly people. My mom’s from Savannah, and she was really struck by how chatty and friendly the locals were – she said they were the closest to Southerners that she had ever encountered outside the South.
