Sampling The Youth Vote

Actual real-life dialogue around here last night, at 6:30, as my jet-lagged family was preparing for bed (we’ll all be up in the morning at five):

“Dad, vote for Obama,” said Nora, my 6-year-old.

“Why?”

“I like him.”

“But Lucas wants Mom and me to vote for Romney.”

“Lucas just likes Romney because he thinks he has good hair.”

“Lucas, is that true?”

“Well, kinda,” said Lucas, 8, sheepishly.

A house divided! I’m betting the third kid around here will advise writing in Slartibartfast.
