No faith in Rick Perry

Rick Perry and his wife are now whining that he’s being picked on because he’s a Christian. Oh, give me a break. Rick Perry and his wife are now whining that he’s being picked on because he’s a Christian. Oh, give me a break. His support is collapsing because of faith, all right: fewer and fewer people have any faith that he could run this country, given his awful debate performances and all-around knotheadedness.

There really are people who are discriminated against because of their Christian faith. By blaming his problems on anti-Christian bigotry, when there is absolutely no evidence for this, the self-pitying Perry trivializes religious bigotry. What a tiresome blowhard he has turned out to be. But Texans already knew that.

UPDATE: I’m dating myself by the comparison, but Anita and Rick Perry are turning themselves into Doug and Wendy Whiner. Mrs. P. is blaming President Obama for making her boy quit his job at the bank. You’re not going to believe this one:

“My son had to resign his job because of federal regulations that Washington has put on us,” Mrs. Perry said while campaigning for her husband in South Carolina, after a voter shared the story of losing his job.

“He resigned his job two weeks ago because he can’t go out and campaign with his father because of SEC regulations,” she continued, referring to the Securities and Exchange Commission. “He has a wife… he’s trying to start a business. So I can empathize.”

“My son lost his job because of this administration,” she said a few minutes later.

You know, I’m kind of hoping ol’ Rick sticks around for a while. This pair are becoming comedy gold.

UPDATE.2: Conservative journalist Byron York compares Perry to Harriet Miers. Apt. Ouch.
