Hey Atlanta, Let’s Ben Op Tonight

Atlanta area readers, I’ll be speaking about the Ben Op tonight at The Areopagus Forum, held at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek. The talk starts at 7:30pm in the Ministry Center. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and $15 for couples — all collected at the door. It’ll be a great time, and a chance to meet other Christians who are interested in The Benedict Option. Details, including directions, here. [1]

I find that these public events are good places for Protestants, Catholics, and Orthodox Christians who care about the same things to meet each other, and exchange addresses. So many of us are looking for the same thing, and need to get to know each other. Don’t miss your opportunity to do this.

Also, don’t forget that there are still some places left for the Issues, Etc. conference in Houston on Saturday. I’ll be davening with the Missouri Synod Lutherans, as well as speaking, along with some other great folks. If you’ve never heard the Hemingways speak, you’ll be in for a treat:

Hope the Issues etc. evening goes well, and you meet the right folks to understand why I, and many others see the LC-MS as “the safest of all the safer harbors, … and a form of Christianity that is deeply rooted in the past, and is more likely to resist the currents of popular opinion.”

Hey Rod – any trips to Florida on the horizon?

Looking forward to your Houston stop. Hoping, among other things, to meet some of your other blog readers! Safe travels.

Thank you for the talk. My husband and I would have come up to introduce ourselves to you afterwards, but walked out with a friend we’d seen and by the time we turned to go back inside, the doors were locked. I would have thanked you in particular for your blogging of the Purgatorio, which I found quite helpful.

Do you have anywhere where you post these events a little more in advance? I would very much like to come and listen to you sometime and worry an opportunity will pass me by because I missed reading the blog that day or something.
