“Toto, we’re not in Burgundy anymore,” texted Sordello, sending this image from a New Orleans grocery store. White wine tinted blue. Saints, preserve us! Last week at this time, we were standing in a Burgundy family’s shed, buying bottles of fantastic red wine they produced themselves, and paying less money than you’d pay for this dreck.

Sordello also spied this sel de Camargue on the shelf:

We both bought this same brand of sea salt, in the same size, for about $3.30 at the supermarket in Lyon.

Sordello and I are back in the real world, but our traveling companion James C. is still bouncing around the Continent. He sends this view from his table in Barcelona, at a tapas restaurant inside a building designed by Gaudí:
