Dante Tour Questions

South Bend, Ind., and Texas -- anybody want me to come talk about Dante this spring?

Hey gang, I have a few quick questions about lectures on my upcoming Dante book. I’m still not sure when the release date is going to be, but I’m trying to use the travel I’m planning to do anyway this spring to speak as well to audiences about how Dante can save their lives. This is not a book tour — I don’t even know if there will be a book tour around How Dante — but rather simply me trying to maximize the opportunities to talk to people about the book.

So let me ask you a couple of questions.

I am going to be at Notre Dame talking to a class about conservatism on April 20. Anybody in South Bend interested in having me come give a talk that day or evening on Dante (provided it doesn’t conflict with the class lecture on conservatism)?  [Sorry, I didn’t realize till just now that the indefatigable Pat Deneen is already working on a Dante event for me there as well as the class lecture. — RD]

I have to be in Texas in late April or early May. I know it’s the end of the academic year, but I’m going to see if it’s possible to stop by and visit with my friends at Baylor, and give a talk at the university. I am already working on a stop in Houston. If I’m already going to be traveling that far, I may as well try to do a stop in Dallas, and one in Austin, given the opportunities to see old friends and eat well. None of this is set in stone, but if your school or church would be interested in having me come talk, I’d like to know so we could set something up, time and schedules permitting.

If you have any interest, or any contacts to recommend, please e-mail me at rod (at) amconmag.com

Thanks.
