Well, I should say so:

After more than a week of complaints and jokes about Apple’s new maps software, the chief executive of the company apologized on Friday to customers for the frustration it has caused.

In a letter posted on Apple’s Web site, Timothy D. Cook said he was “extremely sorry” for the anguish caused when the company replaced Google’s maps with its own, acknowledging that the company’s new Maps app did not live up to its standards.

We are about to go overseas for a month, and are deliberately not upgrading our Apple devices, for the sake of preserving our Googlemaps access. The last thing I want to do is to be in a foreign city and depending on crap Applemaps to find my way around. How strange to say such things about an Apple product.
