Friends, we just received terrible news. One of our brothers from our little parish was found dead at home this morning. He was a fairly young man, and had been suffering from serious health problems of late. But nobody expected this. It’s a complete shock, and we’re all reeling. I’m going over to church now; when you are a parish as small as ours is, you feel it especially hard, all of us.

Please pray for the soul of Nicholas, and his young son, who survives him. And please be patient about my approving comments.

Life is short. Nobody knows the day or the hour…
