Washington, DC – The American Conservative set new all-time highs in traffic and online subscription sales in the second half of 2012. November marked The American Conservative’s best showing in a single month.

Traffic to TheAmericanConservative.com exceeded two million page views in November, up 450% over 2011. Since the site was re-launched in May 2012, traffic is up an average of 175% over 2011, and readers’ time on site has increased by 20%. The American Conservative’s print subscriber base has grown by 30% since April 2012.

In his November 20 column, David Brooks called TheAmericanConservative.com “one of the more dynamic spots on the political Web.”

A week later, former Reagan economic adviser Bruce Bartlett’s article, “Revenge of the Reality-Based Community,” became the most popular piece in the site’s history, garnering more than 200,000 page views.

Traffic numbers for 2012 have surpassed those of every previous year. “Conservatives, and readers of all views, are hungry for greater substance,” Daniel McCarthy, editor of The American Conservative, said. “Our writers don’t parrot talking points; they provide fresh analysis independent of mere partisanship. That’s what conservatism used to be about—and it will be again.”
