Max Blumenthal and Joseph Dana’s s video from Jerusalem is one of the most stunning things I’ve seen. It shows young American Jews at a Jerusalem outdoor cafe, in their cups and talking about Obama.  Their comments are racist and outrageous, some threatening violence.  But they don’t seem violent–they seem like self assured Ivy League types, accustomed to privilege, to saying what they want and not getting challenged for it, to  getting their way.  The kind of kids who will be writing for Commentary and the Weekly Standard in ten years, and playing integral parts in the American establishment. Give it a look.  I’m sure that if you got a group of southern kids from CPAC drunk you could get some to say things like this too.  But if the video ever got out, there would be outrage, and embarrassment.  What strikes me most is the absolute self-assurance of these kids.
