This week, [Alan] Keyes is expected to make a bid for the Constitution Party’s presidential nomination.

Great news. As a newbie to the American scene, I was only recently made aware of the extraordinary Mr Keyes. I am now obsessed. Is he not the most entertaining politician in the world? Last week, I watched every Alan Keyes clip on YouTube. Never before have I seen dazzling eloquence mixed with strangely camp conservative theology, and good-old-fashioned weirdness. Here’s my favorite. (Please note Keyes’ very thespian, mock-demonic, change in tone.)
