USMCvet has it right. McCain is a self-admitted collaborator, and beyond a doubt a traitor. Yet he is proclaimed a hero, while Bobby Garwood did what he had to do to escape and return home after the war, the only POW who managed it, only to be branded a traitor by a government desperate to bury and discredit the information he had on other left behind POWs.

A few years ago I was asked to check out reports concerning one such POW and traveled to Cambodia to only discover it was a scam concocted by certain Cambodia military officials. However, a series of photos taken over a period of fifteen years or so by different individuals came to my attention that certainly seemed to indicate at least one other POW was still alive at that time and being held in Vietnam. You soon become aware of the perfidy of the government and others involved in the POW issue when you try to pass such information along.

There is a special hell reserved for both Kerry and McCain, and their Masters, for what they did to the official government POW programs.

The best book I've read on this subject is 'Kiss the Boys Good-bye' by Monika Jensen-Stevenson.

The corruption is so deep and has existed in Washington for so long that you can just call this a fact without to much gamble to your truth meter. The politicians consider soldiers as fodder for their goals.

Flying the POW/MIA flag is not to salve my conscience, as the writer intones, but rather to make others remember that we did leave some boys behind. Bobby Garwood escaped after "they all came home in '75" and was a major embarrassment to the US gov and military. He was disgracefully prosecuted and punished for having the temerity to escape and live.

I say screw John McCain and all the other gut less bastards who have intentionally covered up this travesty.

" a story that if true might easily represent the single greatest act of national dishonor ever committed by our political leaders"

Actually that slot has already been taken by the government's denial of proper military defensive responsie to the attack on the USS Liberty, June 8, 1967, a day that lives in an infamy worse than ANY other:
*The government knew the attack was underway and that US defensive forces in the area were attempting to respond
* But the degenerate government TURNED BACK the fine US zoomies from area carriers, as the attaking nation murdered 28 US Sailors; 3 Officers, 2 US Marines and a civilian; wounding another 170.
* Then the DC Degenerates menacingly warned US Naval and Marine personnel to never speak of the atrocity or face courtmartial.
* It has been covered up for ..... 43 years, come Tuesday

Who was the nation that conducted the sneak attack?

The reason nothing was done is that both parties would have been tarnished by the revelations and neither could use it as a weapon against the other. Vietnam was more about domestic squabbling than foreign policy. "Ethics are for the opposition; WE are the Good guys!"
