Greg Mankiw posts a list of 14 propositions that are agreed on by the vast majority of professional economists. It kind of makes me wonder what those – like Nate Silver, for example, or the “engineering”-minded Jonathan Chait Noam Scheiber – who think we lay folk should just sit back and defer to the (supposed) expert consensus on the stimulus would think about a world without rent control or minimum wage laws.
