Is this how it ends for the Right– with Hugh Hewitt trolling through the Rev. Wright’s “Pastor’s Page” week-by-week while intoning mysteriously that “Barack Obama was a member of the church at the time. It is unknown if he attended services that day”? Apparently on April 9, 2006, Wright alerted members to a Church member in need of a kidney and availability of the EITC to Katrina victims. One thing that I’ve noticed about Townhall is that the comments by readers tend to be more sane than the posts by the bloggers. This is true in this case as well.

There is a legal adage that says when the facts are against you, argue the law; when the law is against you, argue the facts; when both the law and the facts are against you, argue louder. Everything is against the Republicans this year and by coincidence, Hewitt is a lawyer.

UPDATE: Oops, I noticed while reading Matthew Yglesias,  that the post at Hewitt’s blog is by Duane R. Patterson, who is, I guess, his new Dean Barnett.
