Perhaps we just need to invest in some serious decentralization of power. Heck, maybe even regional Congresses (e.g., a New England legislature, a Midwest legislature, and so on) to save us from the technical impossibilities of a House that big, the crushing tyranny that we have, and the potential troubles of the sort of decentralization that I want, but kinda fear.
I largely agree, but I still think it would be a good thing to cap the number per district at 500,000 or even slightly less.
There could be a million members in the House of Representatives and it would do nothing.
That would complicate voting from the rooftops…
