  2. That’s why I always say Napoleon was the last good thing ever to happen to France. Those sans coulottes were so damn crazy, without Napoleon the French would have become German.

  3. Princeton New Jersey (home of Princeton U.) actually celebrates Bastille day. They took it amiss when I wrote to the local paper suggesting the best way to celebrate the day would be to drag the little twerp of a mayor out from his house and reenact the beheading of the French King.
