Perhaps Pat, it will take a St. Paul to save our civilization but the people who are arrayed against us begin to destroy even a Tebow the moment he seems to rise.

Tebow is no St. Paul.

I’m the same age as PB, and his analysis of America’s inner strengths prior to 1965 squares entirely with my own experience. What a mutilated and constantly hemorrhaging world America has become since the 1965-67 immigration legislation.
I’m constantly hoping to learn what motivated Ted Kennedy to push through that legislation while promising it wouldn’t change the character of America in any significant way. Did he know better, but resorted to a shell game? Or, if he was duped, then by whom or by what?
This would be a remarkably coherent and reasoned presentation from someone three or four decades younger, and yet here we have PB going merrily along at full gallop with elegant fluency. An ornament to intelligent discourse.

Ted Kennedy and his entire family were obsessed with immigration. They didn’t like the reception that their Irish ancestor got when he arrived in the mid-19th century. Teddy’s attitude was, “So, you didn’t like the Irish Catholics; well, let’s see how you like what’s coming next.”
Teddy’s actions were as ruthless as they were myopic. He did, indeed, lie to the American people in 1965, just as he lied again in 1986 when he promised never again to present another amnesty for illegal aliens.

Excellent interview Pat…. The answer to the why America is in decline is because it was planned that way. Divide and conquer, using Cultural Marxist methods. The Left knew that Marxism couldn’t create the standard of living that created the world’s largest and most prosperous Middle Class in history. So the Left 1st had to destroy the American middle classes,by grinding them between high taxes and inflation, and then rebuild the country along collectivist lines. So instead of a direct confrontation America was destroyed from within by the odious, slow, rot of taking over and destroying it’s culture. Thus the long ,slow march,by the Left, through the Universities, literature,Hollywood, the Main Stream Media etc.,until most normal “cultural” pursuits became enamored with multiculturalism, diversity and political correctness. Anyone, including you,who thought “outside the box” was branded out of touch, old fashioned and worse of all a racist. Thus,by plan, yet indirectly America was changed from a unified nation,a Republic if you will, into a mobocracy democracy welfare state where every “special interest” is trying to feed on the economic carcass of a once great nation. A pity to see this happen in our lifetimes. I do hope your book goes on to wake up the Americans who still believe and have faith in the American culture that created the greatest nation on earth. I hope its not too late.

Good video. Here’s the best part, about free trade:
Pat Buchanan: “If you go with NAFTA and GATT and the WTO and take this nation with the highest standard of living in the world, the highest wages, the toughest regulations on manufacturing, and you drop it into a pool where there’s about a billion foreign workers who will work for one-tenth of it, you will lose every manufacturing job in the United States…
My view is very simple: if it can be made here, it should be made here”.
Amen to that!

An excellent series of interviews.
