McCain campaign ads are getting stranger and stranger. Take this one, for example:

What has happened to Biden’s voice? Has someone girded his loins? Why does he sound like one of those anonymous movie baddies with a creepy telephonic-muffling device? It seems to imply that the democratic VP nominee is actually the terrorist threat. Say it ain’t so.

No doubt Biden’s “mark my words” gaffe was a bad one, and the McCain camp should attack him over it. But isn’t this video slightly unpatriotic? The message seems to be: America’s enemies will attack us if we elect Obama, so we must instead elect McCain. Isn’t that, er, appeasement?
