Andrew Bacevich comments that we are not winning the war in Afghanistan; that at best it is a stalemate after sixteen years. I have not seen addressed the question of what we would gain if we won that war. If the situation was so stabilized that not one person was in danger of being harmed, what would this nation have gained?
