The replies in the post do illustrate a lot of the problem. The movement does not take criticism well, and it's "core values" are nothing but mantras. I don't think a lot of them have the slightest idea what Dreher was trying to say. For most of the Bush presidency the movement conservatives gleefully kicked sand in the faces of anyone that voiced the least bit of criticism.
