God...you're good Daniel. I'm a NE fiscal conservative social liberal (ie. lower than whale poop to movement conservatives) and it's long been apparent to me that any party that is intent on impoverishing 80% of the electorate at the expense of the top 20th percentile was doomed. For thirty years, apart from a brief window in the infamous Clinton years, the real incomes of about 80% of American have been stagnant at best. Since 2000 the median income has actually declined slighty in real terms. Even if you look at the 20th percentile the gains have been concentrated disproportionately at top so that income inequality is at levels not seen since the late twenties. This is statistically indisputable evidence but it's rountinely denied by Republicans and conservatives who generally wander off into denunciations of Carter or other non sequiturs. I've been reading a lot of what you and other conservative have been writing of late and also the responses, not to mention all the CPAC antics which are all over the cable shows and youtube. What you're left with is an overwhelming impression of immaturity. It present in everything from some of our less sharp knives in congress happily hoping Ginsburg's cancer carries her away, through Limbaugh consigning to outer darkness anyone criticising Jindal, to these folks roaring applause when some guy is going on about Obama's birth certificate. We've got some growing up to do but I see no signs of it whatever.
