I've heard about that "hit piece". Supposedly it has Michelle saying "why'd he" in some context of criticizing Bush, and some crazed fools are claiming she said "whitey". Reminds me of the Woody Allen satiric complaint in Annie Hall that anti-semites are always saying "did you?" in a contracted pronunication as "djew". Except these guys are serious.

The <a href="http://nationaleconomist.com/blog/2008/06/03/major-hit-tomorrow-on-michelle-obama/" rel="nofollow">hit piece rumors</a> are coming on strong. Can Hillary be waiting?

I don't think it will matter unless they catch obama himself saying something outrageous. Still, it may be giving Hillary hope.

Hmmmm....seems that in your eyes, no matter what this candidate does, a disaster is sure to ensue.

I think the general consensus among her critics is that Hillary will do anything she can to advance her own interests - not that she is some insane monster who acts without an agenda, but that she has no conscience about the casualties she might inflict in the pursuit of her interests. This view of Hillary says that she will do what she can to win the nomination until it's counterproductive to her own interests. The general thinking is that fighting on to the convention, or much beyond tonight, actually hurts her interests, which is why she would cease campaigning - not because she is somehow less willing to fight dirty if she thought it would help her in some way. As for gettting the VP slot, yes, she'll do whatever she can do get that slot if she thinks it's in her interests, and not, if she thinks otherwise. If she lays down her battle, it doesn't mean that she wasn't the "monster" her critics made her our to be, only that continuing to pursue the nomination at this point is counter to her interests, and that she's smart enough to finally realize that.
