		<description>Well, no, that particular war wasn&#039;t inevitable.  One of the reasons why the Concert kept working for as long as it did was that they did keep talking and resolving smaller disputes through international conferences.  August 1914 was ultimately a product of one power, Austria, refusing to take yes for an answer.  I agree that German unification unbalanced European politics fundamentally, and there probably would have been some kind of conflict in the 20th century, but it did not have to be a continental one.</description>
