And the sore is not Israel's existence. The sore is the war with the Palestinians, the galvinzation of Islamic and Arab resolve, the billions of US dollars, the misguided US wars to defend Israel from its long-term enemies, the friction with oil-producing states, the double standards on issues of self-determination, US involvement, the importance of treaties and borders, etc. Obama's nothing special; he continues to genuflect before Israel, as if our continued involvement in the region is a good thing, where instead it's the biggest driver of continuation of the conflict and legitimate conflation of US and Israeli actions, intentions, and moral responsibility. So long as he can’t just speak honestly in criticizing Israel, then the sore will continue to fester. And the sore is not Israel’s existence.
