If the Democrats run someone like Webb as VP they wouldn't have to worry about the undercard at all. It's not going to happen though. Either way the VP has to be someone the GOP can unite behind in 2012. If McCain loses, the VP will be the heir apparent, if McCain wins there's a good chance health and age will limit him to one term anyway. I think Romney is going to try hard to be that heir.
